The $13,599 will purchase much needed PPE for frontline healthcare workers, such as masks, gloves, and face shields.
Many people view a planned gift as their legacy and lasting mark on their community.

In honour of National Volunteers Week, we wanted to share some photos and stories of how our volunteers have made an impact right here at home. We simply couldn’t do all we do to improve our hospitals and health centres without them.
On February 14, 2020, Fortis donated $500,000 to be split evenly between the Health Care Foundation and the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. The Bliss Murphy Centre will use its money towards the construction of a new chemotherapy unit, while The Health Care Foundation will use its $250,000 towards the complete renovation of the cancer care unit at the Health Sciences centre.
St. John’s, NL – The Health Care Foundation awarded today over $62,500 in Comfort in Care™ grant funding to frontline employees at Eastern Health to enhance the comfort, care and well-being of patients, residents, clients and families. The recipients were recognized at a ceremony held at Pleasant View Towers in St. John’s.
