In Memory Donation Testimonial

Remembering Peg Kavanagh

“In the Fall, our mother was admitted to St. Clare’s Hospital in very serious condition,” says daughter Mary Kavanagh. “From the time she was seen in the Emergency Department to her admission to the 7th floor, she received very compassionate care from the Emergency Physician to the nursing staff.”

“We were so grateful to St.Clare’s for helping us at a very difficult time and giving us such comfort.  We were also very thankful to Father Philip Melvin for all his visits, support and especially prayers during her hospital stay.”

As our mother was a Public Health Nurse in the 1940s and 50s, it is with great pleasure that we had chosen St. Clare’s Hospital as our in memorial, and with the help of friends who also gave generously.

“We were so grateful to St.Clare’s for helping us at a very difficult time and giving us such comfort … we felt the need to give back: especially in the area of comfort care.”

Making a Difference in My Mother’s Name

“In memory of our mother, we felt the need to give back: especially in the area of comfort care.

For visitors waiting long hours in the hospital and sometimes having to stay overnight with a loved one, the need for a lounge chair is greatly needed.

With government funding for hospitals going towards salaries and maintenance of the hospital, there are little resources for the little extras in comfort care that are greatly needed.”

The Kavanagh Family’s In-Memory Donation Helped Fund This Sleeper Chair. It Brings Comfort to Family Members Visiting Loved Ones In St. Clare’s 7 West.
