St. John’s, NL – Today, the Health Care Foundation’s Annual General Meeting shared an overview of the Foundation’s achievements for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

“In these unprecedented times, our community has come together to support the needs of our healthcare workers and hospitals. We extend sincere thanks to our incredible donors, supporters, and partners. We are delighted to announce that over $3.5 million was transferred during our last fiscal year in support of our hospitals and health centres,” said Jocelyn Perry, Chair of the Health Care Foundation’s Board of Directors. “In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, our generous donors continue to keep our hospitals up to date with the latest advances in tools and technologies, while also enhancing the patient experience of health care, right here at home.”

“Today, I’m thrilled to announce the Health Care Foundation’s donors supported $2,808,875 in vital equipment and technology, $387,000 in COVID-19 assistance, $214,000 in education and research and $93,000 for comfort items and revitalized hospital spaces”, said Paul Snow, President and CEO of the Health Care Foundation. “Your donations purchase the best equipment for cardiac care, dialysis, integrated operating suites, mental health and addictions, diagnostic imaging, the COVID-19 fund, thoracic surgery, urology and women’s health while supporting innovation, patient care items, education and training. Your support improves our hospitals and health centres for all of us. Thank you.”
