June 22, 2026 St. John’s, N.L. – Community came together in full force on June 18, 2026, as the Health Care Foundation hosted its annual Gurney Cup Golf Tournament at The Wilds Resort. The sold-out event brought together 148 golfers and raised $117,585 in support of health care in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Funds raised through the 2026 Gurney Cup will help bring Musculoskeletal Ultrasound technology to the Rheumatology Program at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. This advanced imaging tool will help physicians diagnose and treat patients more quickly, reduce wait times, and improve access to care.

“The success of the Gurney Cup speaks to the generosity and community spirit that exists throughout Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Paul Snow, President and CEO of the Health Care Foundation. “Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter helped advance health care for patients and families in our province. We are sincerely grateful for the support that continues to make initiatives like this possible.”

The Health Care Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to belairdirect, this year’s Presenting Sponsor, for helping make the 2026 tournament a tremendous success.

“belairdirect is proud to once again support the Gurney Cup Golf Tournament and the Health Care Foundation’s essential work in Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Max Mercer, Chair of the 2026 Gurney Cup Golf Tournament and Senior Account Manager of Business Development and Affinity at belairdirect. “At belairdirect, we’re committed to building resilient communities, and the funds raised through the Gurney Cup will go directly toward giving patients, families, and frontline health care workers across Newfoundland and Labrador the resources they need most.”

Additional thanks are extended to all Gurney Cup sponsors, including our Signature Sponsor, Compass One; Silver Sponsors, Mobia, YMAN Construction Ltd., Honeywell, and CWP Paving; and Bronze Sponsors, Newfoundland Power, Keyin College, and Baker Flooring. We also extend our gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and committee members whose efforts helped make the event possible.
