April 22, 2026 – St. John’s, N.L. – The Health Care Foundation’s sixth annual Row4Heart event raised $171,523 in support of the Provincial Cardiovascular and Stroke Program, reinforcing the community’s shared commitment to strengthening cardiac care in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Held at Capital Hyundai on April 19, Row4Heart brought teams together for a high-energy day of rowing, fundraising, and friendly competition. Originally scheduled earlier in the year, the event was postponed due to severe winter weather and successfully rescheduled, reflecting the dedication of participants, volunteers, and sponsors who remained committed to cardiac care.
“Row4Heart continues to showcase what is possible when a community comes together with purpose,” said Paul Snow, president and chief executive officer, Health Care Foundation. “This event is a powerful reminder that cardiac care is strengthened not only by technology and expertise, but by the people who stand behind it.”
Row4Heart welcomes participants of all fitness levels in support of enhanced cardiac care. Through collective effort and determination, teams help strengthen access to specialized equipment, innovation, and patient-centred services within the provincial program.
“The Row4Heart event has become a defining part of our culture at Capital Auto Group, uniting our community and shared purpose across the province,” said Jon Howard, chief executive officer, Capital Auto Group. “My family and I are incredibly proud to carry on my father’s commitment to supporting cardiac care in the province, and we’re honoured to keep that legacy going as a presenting sponsor for years to come.”
The Health Care Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to this year’s Row4Heart, from participants and donors to volunteers and supporters. A special thank you to Capital Hyundai, the event’s presenting sponsor; belairdirect, the signature sponsor; and the Royal St. John’s Regatta and the St. John’s Rowing Club, dedicated volunteer partners, whose longstanding support continues to play a vital role in the event’s success.
