May is National Leave a Legacy Month

Leave a Legacy™ Month is a national public awareness campaign meant to encourage people to leave a planned gift to a charity or cause that is meaningful to them. The Health Care Foundation is honoured this month, to thank those who have chosen to help improve hospitals and health centres, right here at home, through a legacy gift to the Health Care Foundation.

Sample Legacy Donor, Gary Rowe

Gary Rowe was a well-known philanthropist in our province. In addition to funding vital medical equipment and the renovation of the LeMarchant House, the Estate of Gary Rowe has helped fund many of our programs including our Comfort in Care™, which improves patient care in our hospitals, education programs for Eastern Health employees, and the revitalization of several quiet and waiting areas through our Peaceful Ports program. It’s truly inspirational to see the tremendous impact that one person can have in so many areas of health care.

Many people view a planned gift as their legacy and lasting mark on their community.

Everyone will need their healthcare system at some point.
A legacy gift to the Health Care Foundation will improve the lives of Newfoundlanders & Labradorians, immediately and forever.

Leaving a planned gift in your will can be your personal legacy. Tens of thousands of Newfoundlanders – your own friends and family included – will benefit from your kindness.

You can decide what area of care you would like your gift to go towards, and you can leave you legacy in many forms:

  • Gifts of Bequest
  • Endowment Fund
  • Gifts of Life Insurance
  • Gifts of Capital Property
  • RRSP and RRIF

If you are interested in leaving a Planned Gift, please contact to our Chief Development Officer, Kelly Reid, to discuss your options.
