November 18, 2024 – St. John’s, N.L. – The Health Care Foundation is celebrating a transformative $3 million gift to enhance cardiac care in Newfoundland and Labrador. This remarkable contribution comes from the collective generosity of three family foundations: the Brothers Family Foundation, the King Family Foundation, and the Pretty-Woodrow Foundation, each donating $1 million to advance critical cardiac services.
United by a shared vision to improve healthcare for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, the family foundations have made possible the modernization of the Cardiac Catheterization Labs at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s. These state-of-the-art labs play a vital role in diagnosing and treating heart conditions, serving patients from all areas of the province. By expanding service capacity and upgrading technology, the enhancements will expand access to life-saving procedures, shorten wait times, and elevate the quality of care delivered.
Cardiac care continues to be a growing priority in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through their generous support, these philanthropic families have advanced healthcare capabilities in the province, helping to ensure better outcomes and a healthier future for residents. This partnership underscores the power of collective generosity, demonstrating how shared vision and collaboration can drive meaningful change and elevate critical medical services for all communities.
