Apply for funding
Supporting health care priorities, together.

The Health Care Foundation works in partnership with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) to fund equipment, programs, and initiatives that enhance care for patients, residents, and families.

The funding process depends on the amount being requested.

What happens next?
01
Contact Your Department

Please begin by speaking with your program manager or department director. The Health Care Foundation can only consider requests that have completed the NLHS approval process and are formally submitted to the Foundation by the CEO of NL Health Services.

02
Foundation Review & Approval

The request is presented to the Health Care Foundation for consideration and approval. Requests of $100,000 or more also require approval from the Health Care Foundation Board of Directors.

03
Funding Is Secured

Once approved, the Health Care Foundation will notify the CEO of NL Health Services and the appropriate department lead. The Foundation will then begin securing the required funding through donor support, fundraising initiatives, and other appropriate funding sources.

04
Permission to Purchase

Once the necessary funding has been secured, the Health Care Foundation will notify the NLHS department lead and CEO that the purchase or initiative can proceed. Funds will then be transferred to NL Health Services through the established process.

05
From Funding to Impact

Once equipment is operational or an initiative is implemented, NL Health Services must provide a written update to the Health Care Foundation. This helps demonstrate donor impact, recognize supporters and highlight improvements to patient care.
