For many seniors living in long-term care, Christmas can be a difficult time, especially when family and loved ones are far away. Through the Health Care Foundation’s Santa for a Senior Program, you can help bring the magic of Christmas to more than 550 seniors and long-term care residents while making a meaningful difference in their lives throughout the year.
Since 2018, Santa for a Senior has helped make the holiday season brighter for residents in long-term care.
Today, the program supports residents at three NL Health Services facilities:
Pleasant View Towers
Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion
Dr. Walter Templeman Health Care Centre
Many residents come from communities across Newfoundland and Labrador and may no longer have family nearby. Through the generosity of our donors and community partners, we can help ensure they feel remembered, valued and cared for during the holidays.
Your Gift Makes a Difference Beyond Christmas
Santa for a Senior is about more than presents under the tree.
Your generosity helps provide thoughtful Christmas gifts, comfort items, recreational resources and quality-of-life enhancements that bring happiness, dignity and comfort to residents.
From creating special holiday memories to providing items and equipment that enhance daily living, your support makes a lasting difference.
Your Gift Gives joy. Your Gift Gives comfort. Your Gift Gives a sense of belonging.

Together, We Can Make the Holidays Brighter
A thoughtful gift can mean so much more than what’s inside the wrapping paper. It can bring a smile, create a special memory and remind someone that they are not forgotten.
This Christmas, help us give seniors and long-term care residents the gift of comfort, dignity and joy.
Every gift helps strengthen health care for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador
