Research starts with an idea. Donor support helps move it forward. What if the next idea that changes patient care starts right here? Research gives health care professionals the opportunity to ask important questions, test new approaches, and find better ways to diagnose, treat, and care for patients. Through Health Care Foundation Research Grants, donors help give local researchers the resources to explore those ideas, turning questions from the frontlines of health care into knowledge that can improve care for patients today and in the future.
Some of the most meaningful advances in health care begin with a question: Could we do this better? The Health Care Foundation Research Grants support both clinical research and research exploring the organizational and administrative aspects of health care, with priority given to adult-focused research. Donor-funded research has explored areas such as restoring manual dexterity for patients living with multiple sclerosis and examining the benefits of nurse-led community meetings in acute psychiatric care. Each project represents an opportunity to learn something new and potentially change how care is delivered. When you support health care research, your impact can extend far beyond a single patient or moment in time.

Your gift gives better care for tomorrow.
Every day, health care professionals in Newfoundland and Labrador see opportunities to improve care. They understand the challenges facing their patients, their teams, and our health care system because they experience them firsthand. Through research, they can better understand these challenges and develop evidence-based solutions that improve care, outcomes, and quality of life for patients. By supporting research here at home, donors help our health care professionals lead discoveries, not simply benefit from it.
The Health Care Foundation provides annual research grants to support and encourage health care research within the facilities and programs we support.
Proposals may include:
- Clinical research
- Patient care research
